H.R. Frink Outdoor Education Centre & Natural Science School

The HR Frink Centre is a conservation area and outdoor education centre just north of Belleville, Ontario. School classes visit throughout the school year for curriculum based science programs. The 14 km’s of trails are open to public dawn to dusk at this   138 hectare (341 acres) Conservation Area owned by Quinte Conservation.

The H. R. Frink Outdoor Education Centre was established at the Plainfield Conservation Area in 1972 by the Hastings County  Board of Education and the Moira River Conservation Authority. It was named after Herbert Frink, a well-known local educator and conservationist who was an advocate of outdoor education.

The Centre is currently operated by the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board in partnership with the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board

Quinte Conservation owns the land on which the Centre is located. The Conservation Authority has assisted both in labour and financially with special projects. Quinte Conservation support the Centre through its involvement in the Friends of the Frink Centre.
